Great Microwave

I'm coming up on a year of using this appliance and my favorite feature is the nonstick interior. It's MUCH easier to keep clean compared to my older one. I recently discovered additional settings too for all kinds of alarms and features-nice extra!

WMH53520CH - FAILURE/COMMON ISSUE

Have all Whirlpool appliances with great success. Not so much with this microwave. Bought in 8/2015 for kitchen rehab. Installed 10/2015. A little over 2 years later it doesn't work. Recently it started saying "open & close door to start" even though the door was closed. This error started appearing more and more frequently until now the door doesn't close anymore. If you push on the door to close it the microwave starts running even though there's no time or function selected. Waited on hold for ~ 2hrs to speak to someone at Whirlpool and got "we're sorry for the issues that you're having". So many people having the same problem and they claim there is no recall and nothing that they can do. Wouldn't recommend this microwave and reconsidering my choice in manufacturer for any/all future appliance purchases.

I bought WMH53520CS-0 on 06-2014. I am single and do not use this microwave as much as some users, but I now have the same problem as many of the other reviews with the open/close door problem. After 3 and a half years I am left with do I repair or just go out and purchase another microwave. Truly surprised that Whirlpool would have such a repeated problem.

Only had my microwave for a month, so it's hard to make a lot of comments on performance, but so far I am very pleased with the microwave's features and performance. As stated in the review title, love the look of it. My previous microwave was a Whirlpool and lasted 20 yrs. before it quit. I use my microwave daily.

We bought this microwave shortly after buying a new stove. Our old one didn't match the new stove. The two white ice appliances make for a stunning look. It's just as impressive as stainless steel, but much easier to keep clean.The new microwave works great and we love how quiet it is.

Love the "ice" look!!

We were unable to see this in person before purchasing, but bought based on online photos. It looks even better in person, and we absolutely love it!! We find the "white ice" to be the perfect compromise between the popular look of stainless steel and the easier cleaning of glossy white (or black, but white works better for our kitchen, keeping it from being too dark). Directions for installation were very clear, and it works very well. Very happy with our purchase!

Full Function Microwave

Nice full function microwave...it automatically turns on the exhaust when the stove below it gets too warm on the top and needs exhaust! Rack or rotation choice very nice, easy digital controls. Only issue is the lighting. There is only one light under the microwave to shine on your stove top, it needs two, one on each side for more light when you are cooking. Guess I'll have to look for some lights I can mount to get more light on the cooking surface.

I love my new Whirlpool microwave! The defrost feature is spot on allowing proper defrost of frozen food. I like the easy to wipe clean surface, its much easier to keep clean than the unit we replaced.

Large capacity, strong exhaust fan.

I bought this to replace a 18 year old similar model. Easy to install. Exhaust fan (vented through wall) is very strong and a little quieter than the old model. Inside is big and easy to clean. I'm not a big fan on the sensor settings, but they do seem to work. Only things I would do different is make the display change color and have the light LED. Otherwise a great unit.

Still learning

A four because I have only had two weeks. On a learning curve for using sensor technology, especially with single baked potato. Read the instructions again and must try putting potato at edge of turn table rather than center. Appliance is beautiful and goes well with white appliances. However, I believe it will look great with stainless as well.
